A 13-year-old girl passed away after she fell off a roof of a Tesco Express in Largs, North Ayrshire.
Her grieving family and friends paid tribute to Sarah Short after her tragic death on Saturday.
According to the Daily Record, a local resident heard someone screaming in the street and contacted emergency services after seeing the teen.
A nurse who was passing by in a cab jumped out of the taxi to perform CPR on Sarah alongside an off-duty firefighter until an ambulance arrived.
But the teen, who was a scooter rider and a keen skater, died at the scene despite desperate efforts to save her.
Police Scotland said that Sarah’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
Sarah’s heartbroken mother, Gail, has led tributes to the teen as she shared a photo of them on Facebook.
Her friends described her as ‘caring, kind, funny and always up for anything.’
One friend took to Instagram and wrote: “Never in a million years would I have to imagine writing this but sadly Sarah will be missed deeply by all of us.
“She was always the life of the party and never once failed to put a smile on my face. It breaks my heart knowing she’s not here anymore.”
“Sarah was caring, kind, funny and always up for anything she touched all of us deeply in our hearts. Even if you didn’t know her you would have loved her.
“If you are ever feeling hurt, sad or lonely please talk to a professional and get help you don’t understand how cared for you are. Be nice, words hurt, be careful with what you say.
“Stay strong. RIP Sarah Short.”
Another friend said: “Please always check up on your pals no matter how happy they seem. Love u always..
“Sarah was always able to put a smile on everyone’s face she was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. She was always making me laugh, never a dull moment with her.
“I’m so grateful I was able to know you and call you one of my best pals.
“Rest in peace Sarah you’ll be missed by many.”
