The guy accepted the number but things didn’t go as per Jill’s plan as she received a text message from Derek who revealed that he was actually gay.

The 18-year-old was quite upset until Derek told her that he had an identical twin, Scott, who was straight. He asked Jill and Derk to exchange numbers and everything went very well.

“He and his friends got up to leave and I thought I missed my shot. I left a few minutes later and Derek and his friends just happened to be lingering in the lobby. After that I was like, ‘da** this is my second chance’, so I walked up to him and his friends and was just like, ‘Sorry I was staring at you earlier, that’s awkward, but I just think you’re cute. Can I give you my number?’

“She then walked up to me and said, ‘Hey, sorry if the staring was awkward but I think you’re cute so here’s my number. My name’s Jill, by the way.’ And I said, ‘No, it wasn’t awkward at all – and thank you! My name’s Derek.'”

He added: “At first I thought about pretending I was Scott and giving her Scott’s number right there, but I just took the number and said thank you.”

Derek said: “I asked him and he was totally up for it. They had lunch once and are planning on hanging out when we get back to Iowa.”
