8-Month-Old Girl With Down Syndrome Shared Adorable Smile With Her Adoptive Mother


An adorable 8-month-old girl with Down syndrome has gone viral after sharing a priceless smile with her adoptive mother.

In the heartwarming photos, the girl, who was referred to only as Baby H due to legal reasons associated with the adoption, was grinning from ear to ear as her new mother spoke to her.

The mum has also recorded a short clip of her smiling baby and shared it on the Facebook page of the National Down Syndrome Adoption Network where it gained millions of likes and views.

“When Baby H was almost eight months old, she woke up one morning with this brand-new smile. We noticed it several times and realized she was showing us a cheesy grin – we laughed and laughed every time she did it and she just loved the attention,” the girl’s new mum said.

“She got to where she could do it on cue and I just happened to be talking to her, in our home, one morning and she started cheesing for me.

“You can tell by my laughter how much we adore this smile and she actually only smiled like this for a couple of weeks so this video is a treasure for us.

Speaking of Baby H after seeing her smile was also Stephanie Thompson, the DSAN’s director, who said she gets to ‘meet’ adorable babies before they’re even born.

“I was so happy to put a face with a name. I indirectly meet these children before they are born, I meet them on paper, so I fall in love with these kiddos early on,” Stephanie explained.
