32-year-old Michael Glance shot his 2-year-old child in front of the boy’s mother during their heated argument, authorities reported.
The evil father is accused of trying to murder Ryker Glance as he sat in his mother’s vehicle outside their house in Blackman Township, Michigan.
Glance got into an argument with child’s horrified mother, Nicole McCarthy, before he grabbed the weapon and held it to his son’s head, said the prosecutors.
The father then tried to fire the gun at the toddler but it malfunctioned as he pulled the trigger.
The terrified mother managed to grab the child and place him in the back of the vehicle before she drove off. Glance is said to have reappeared from their house carrying a shotgun.
The fired the weapon at the poor child, blowing half of his face off, according to a heartbreaking report by prosecutor Kati Rezmierski.
The child was rushed to a hospital but he still remains in critical condition.
A GoFundMe page for little Ryker said: “As a result of his injuries, Ryker has had five surgeries in the past 24 hours to repair his face, hand, arm and lungs.
“He had titanium placed in his jaw and surgeons have reconstructed his mouth, gums and nose. Ryker now has over 100 stitches in his face post-surgery and is still listed in critical care with a ventilator and feeding tube installed in his stomach.
“He has a long road of recovery ahead with more surgeries to come.”
The child’s grandfather, Doug McCarthy, told MLive: “(Ryker’s) doctors have been fantastic, and we’ve had so many people tell me they were praying for him and offering support.
“The doctors at Mott (C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor) are miracle workers.”
Glance was arrested and charged with three counts of assault with intent to kill and firearm charges. He is currently held on a $10million bail.
