Veteran Father Finally Meets His Son For The First Time After 28 Long Years


David Winkelspecht was 17 years old when he was forced to leave his pregnant girlfriend and family to serve in the army.

During the time he was gone, his girlfriend gave birth to a boy and named him David Jr.

By the time the soldier left the army, he had lost contact with his family and girlfriend. The fact that he never saw his son left a huge hole in his heart.

Almost three decades later, the father heard unbelievable news.

His friend found his 28-year-old son on social media. David Jr. Lived in San Diego and he lives in Las Vegas.

Determined to see meet son, David set his mind to see him. But the only problem is that his son lives in San Diego.

Dad David struggled to get the funds required to visit San Diego. But his prayers were answered when his friend contacted Fox5 Surprise Squad.

David had many items he was selling in his truck when he stopped at a gas station. He needed to sell those items to get money so he could see his son.

That’s when staff walked up to David and told him they wanted to fill up his tank, and the surprised father was so thankful.

The father said he was going to San Diego to see his son for the first time. But aside from filling up the tank, the TV show wanted to do something more.

They gave David $500 for the big event, and the father just lost it. An emotional David said: “Are you serious? There is a god.”

And the surprise didn’t end there.

When David said he was about to go so he could sell the items in his trunk, the TV team offered $1,000 for all of it, which was more than what it was worth.

Before David go on for a trip to see his son, the news anchor invited him to her show. He was left wondering but the Surprise Squad kept on giving surprises.

What he didn’t know is that his son David Jr. was already there waiting for him.

The teary father hugged his son tight and they both cried in each other’s arms.

Finally, the long wait was over.

Viewers couldn’t help but cry during the heartwarming moment. David Sr. also got to meet his two adorable grandchildren and daughter-in-law.
