50-year-old Diane Campbell from Bolton, UK, was flabbergasted when she found out her son had planned a massive Monday party at their home without telling her anything about it.

According to the DJ and singer, her 10-year-old son, Max, decided to invite 31 of his schoolmates over for a party using invitations his mom had previously bought when the boy celebrated his birthday.

The plans to hold a secret party were not revealed to Diane until one of her friends sent her a photo of the invitation and said her son was already excited to attend.

“My friend messaged me to tell me that her son was excited to come to Max’s party. I messaged her back and said ‘what party?’ She told me Max had invited everyone from his class to an end of school party,” the mother explained.

“I had to make a status on Facebook asking people to message me because I had no idea how many invites he’d given out.

“It’s a big school and there are still loads of parents I haven’t even met or spoken to.”

Diane went on to explain that her son had found the invitations in her card box before filling them out and scattering them to his buddies around his school.

“He said he wanted an end of term party because Year Six get one – going from primary to secondary school – and he doesn’t,” the 50-year-old added.

“Nobody turned up, thanks to Facebook, although the neighbors and friends did joke that they were going to gate crash the party with wine and beer.”

As the mother concluded, dozens of her son’s friends – including many whom she’d never seen before – would attend her son’s bash if she didn’t see the invitation in time to stop the party from happening.

“I’m thankful we have Facebook, otherwise I’d have had 31 kids at my door on Monday,” she said.
