As the little boy’s parents, Mindi and Casey, insist, their young one really enjoys the sport which is why they didn’t hesitate to put him on water skis when the family visited Lake Powell in Utah.

Though many people considered their actions bold and careless, to say the least, the proud parents claimed that precautions were taken and that Rich was “never put in harm’s way.”

“He looks scared and unsure,” the third warned.

Not everyone, however, agreed that the parents were in the wrong, whereas some went on to applaud the couple for letting their young son enjoy his life and helping him be healthy.

“This is NOT child abuse. Ppl need to stop always coddling their children this baby is 6 months and is living his best life,” someone argued.

Another added: “The haters can’t relate … their kids are probably on video games all day.”

Following the backlash, Mindi and Casey spoke out in a 7 News interview to defend their parenting methods and double down on claiming their son was safe while water skiing.

“He was able to stand on his own at three months and shortly after started pulling himself up onto furniture,” the couple added.

“We work very hard on his posture when he crawls and stands so that he stays healthy based off of recommendations from his pediatrician.”
