The Family Of Bullied Boy Quaden Bayles Refused Trip To Disneyland And Said All Money Should Go To Charity


The family of bullied boy Quaden Bayles has turned down a free trip to Disneyland and expressed their wish for all of the donated money to go to anti-bullying charities.

After the heartbreaking video of 9-year-old Quaden, who has dwarfism, went viral, US comedian Brad Williams started a GoFundMe page with the intention of raising enough funds to “send a wonderful kid to Disneyland.”

Soon enough, however, people from all around the world have expressed their support for the bullied boy and donated over AUD $700,000.

Despite being grateful for all the support, Quaden’s mum decided the money would be better spent if it went to charity.

“We want the money to go to community organizations that really need it. They know what the money should be spent on. So as much as we want to go to Disneyland, I think our community would far off benefit from that.”

After expressing their wishes, the Bayles family is now working with Mr. Williams to find a solution that doesn’t break GoFundMe’s rules which state that raised funds have to be “used solely for the purpose stated.”

In his fundraiser, Williams has stated that “after all the flights, hotel, tickets and food is paid for, any excess money will be donated to anti-bullying/anti-abuse charities.”
