A digital marketer from San Francisco who just took on a new job has proudly posed with the bouquet of flowers that was waiting for him on his table only to find out that the flowers weren’t meant for him in the first place.
Jon Caña’s first day at work didn’t go exactly as planned but he will surely remember it for good. After starting his job at an advertising agency, the young man noticed a greeting card and a bouquet on his desk.
Thinking they did all this to welcome him in the team, the touched man proudly posed with the flowers for several photos and even posted the pictures on social media.
Months after his mini photo shoot, on February 9, Jon finally found out that the flowers he received weren’t meant for him at all.
As it turned out, the staff misplaced the gift that was originally meant for one of their employees who was expecting a baby.
After the staff realized the mistake they made, however, it was too late because Jon was already posing with the flowers.
Due to the awkward situation, the man’s coworkers decided to keep the truth from Jon as they didn’t want to ruin his moment of happiness and content.
After finally realizing who the flowers were really for, however, Jon couldn’t help but share the hilarious update on Twitter.
“One of the funnier things about this whole story is that I work at media agency where one of the goals of our campaigns is to go viral on the internet… and so I presented my tweet at a team meeting today,” Jon wrote after his story went viral.
Recently, he also shared a picture with another bouquet of flowers, one that his coworkers gave to him from the heart.
