The schoolboy who recently made it into the headlines for egging the former federal senator Fraser Anning has donated around $100,000 to the families of all the victims from the Christchurch massacre.
The 17-year-old Will Connolly is known for smashing the egg on Fraser Anning’s head after the New Zealand attack.
Will got a lot of followers after this controversy with the senator about the Muslim immigration and the attack in the church during the prayers.
Though his lawyers represented him through probono even after that, there were two GoFundMe pages made to raise fund for his legal fees.
Will posted on Instagram saying that amount of $99,922.36 has been transferred to the church’s foundation for the victims’ families.
He further spoke about how two fund pages were raised to help, but his lawyers acted probono for him, so the money collected in the funds were saved. That’s when he decided to donate all the money to the people who have suffered because of the Christchurch attack.
He also said that the money wasn’t mine to keep in the first place and how people donated the money to help him with his legal help and to buy more eggs.
Will was really thankful for those fundraising pages and also to the generous people who donated their money.
At the end of his post, he said that he hopes that it can bring some change and relief in the life of those who suffered the loss and also to keep spreading love. The Instagram post got more than 50,000 likes and comments from his 564,000 followers.
People are praising him for his generous decision of donating all the money to the victims’ family. After the egg incident, the police let Will Connolly go after a warning. Will is also thankful for the chance that he got from the police.
