A loving dog named Sammy saved his family from a house fire by barking loudly to wake them up.
When fire suddenly broke out in the middle of the night, Sammy immediately raised the alarm and managed to wake the family of five up.
All of them were safe from the raging fire, thanks to the pooch. Sadly, two cats and another dog didn’t survive.
Fire officials said in a statement that “firefighters tried but were unable to revive them.”
The department shared a photo on their Facebook page showing Sammy resting at the back of a pickup looking directly at the camera as firemen controlled the fire.
Rescuers discovered flames and heavy smoke coming out of the back of the house and found that the fire already extended to an apartment.
Firemen said that the fire was caused by the deep freezer.
Internet users praised the brave pooch, with one commenting: “People are afraid of dogs of his lineage, but they are often heroes, showing devotion to their human families.”
Another wrote: “It is so sad that the other pets didnt make it. Children and animals will try to hide from a fire rather than escape it and then they become inaccessible to family members or fire fighters trying to save them. Bless sweet Sammy though. What an awesome doggie!”
