Parents go through rough days and sleepless nights as they care for their kids.

Their work never seems to end throughout the years.

Even though they are always exhausted, parents love and care for their children all the time. It is one of the reasons why most children make time to take good care of their parents not because they have to but because they love them.

But a daughter failed to reciprocate her father’s love when she put her 80-year-old dad with Alzheimer’s on a one-way flight.

Jerry Ellingsen, 80, had previously been living with his brother’s family in Southwest Florida. His brother explained: “Nobody else wanted him, so I said yah, he’s more than welcome to stay here.”

But the senior who was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease just packed up his things and left. He ended up at his daughter Pamela’s house.

However, his stay didn’t last long as she placed him in a motel. Then, she booked a one-way flight for her father, sending him to his estranged wife in Denver.

Jerry’s brother’s partner said that Pamela just wanted to ‘get rid of him’ because she was ‘done with him.’

It is unclear why Pamela cruelly treated her dad. She simply sent a text message to his wife and said: “My dad and Corky [the dog] will arrive on a flight in Denver tomorrow afternoon.”

But Jackie didn’t appear and Jerry ended up stranded at the airport. When he and his dog arrived in Denver, he had no clue where he was or what he was doing there.

United Airlines staff heard the situation and called the local police, who questioned the senior. However, Jerry only had few answers to give.

The police tried to call Pamela and his wife, but both refused to take him in. The authorities had no choice but to take Jerry to a hospital.

Sadly, hundreds of seniors like Jerry end up abandoned by their loved ones.
