According to the father, he built the treehouse during the pandemic so that his kids could enjoy the fresh air and spend more time outdoors. The structure, however, only became problematic after a meddlesome neighbor decided to make a fuss about it.

“Don’t worry, you’re safe now! Your act of casual cruelty was successful. The complaint you lodged against the HOA was heard,” Dave wrote in his angry letter that he displayed outside his home for the nosey neighbor to see.

“They had me take down the small tree fort that I built on this location with my sons during the pandemic. No longer will its presence offend your walk past my house. Please enjoy your stroll free from the sound of my children’s play and laughter.

“They are safely back inside now, watching television I’m sure. Enjoy the unobstructed view of my backyard. I will try to keep it up to code.”

The letter quickly went viral on Reddit where hundreds of people voiced support for the upset father and branded his neighbor a ‘Karen’.

“Dave, Fight back. Don’t let the Karen win. Take over the HOA and change the rules. Work from inside the system if you must. Don’t let the children down. I really really need to know you didn’t let this idiot have her way. Let me know if you need help,” someone wrote.

“HOAs and housing plans like this are the natural breeding ground of Karens,” another one said.

One person suggested: “I’m always so fascinated with HOA stories. We don’t have them here. If, in another life, I ever find myself living in the USA then I would love to join one. Not because I’m a Karen, but because the prospect of observing Karens in their natural habitat and perhaps even have the chance to f*** with them using loopholes and technicalities sounds like it could be fun for a while.”
