His daughter, Elaine Nuttall, paid tribute to their amazing father, Frank Nuttall, and told of their pain as they were not able to grieve together amid coronavirus lockdown.

“We are devastated, heartbroken, struggling – we just can’t believe it,” Ms. Nuttal expressed. “My dad had diabetes but he was not unwell he was healthy, he loved walking and would walk for miles every day.”

Elaine, who must self-isolate after she went to see Frank before he passed away, is even more devastated because she can’t comfort her children, 13-year-old Chloe and 14-year-old Kyle.

It was on March 28 when Frank was rushed to Royal Bolton Hospital and put on a ventilator.

His family members were not allowed to see him but his wife and Elaine managed to call him quickly before he was put on ventilator.

When Elaine visited her father before his condition worsened, she signed a form that say she understood her health would be at risk and she had to wear personal protective equipment.

“When he died they cried with us,” Elaine said of the nurses. “We have received a message of condolence from one of the nurses.”

She now urges everyone to stay indoors to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

One internet user commented: “Adults with Autism have had their whole World. Lose in on them and many do. To have that flexibility of thought to deal with the changes we are all coping with. Anxiety and stress levels are much higher and this tragic loss will impact hard once the aspects sink in. Really sorry for your loss.”

Another wrote: “Words can’t express how sad I feel. Life just isn’t fair. My sincere condolences to family and friends. RIP Frank.”
