Jessica said: “Our wedding really was just about us. It wouldn’t have mattered if there were 220 guests or no guests.”

The couple met in 2013 and got engaged in 2014. The couple spent $10,000 on their wedding which they couldn’t attend.

Just two days before the wedding when the couple was setting up the firehouse before their wedding rehearsal dinner, Timothy had a really bad headache.

Jessica said: “He had a really bad headache. He was falling asleep on the floor and on tables. He went home to sleep and the next morning, when I woke up, he wasn’t in bed.”

“Timothy was in the living room, watching TV and he was talking gibberish. He thought he was speaking to me in sentences but he wasn’t making any sense.”

“I was so stressed out about the wedding that I got mad at him. I told him to stop acting like a baby.”

Jessica then asked Timothy’s mother, Amy Ludwin-Berty to check in on him and found out he was seriously ill.

They rushed him to the hospital where she was told that he had a sinus infection and it had spread to his brain, resulting in an abscess.
