A Missouri couple did something for a waitress which only a selfless person can do.
Gary Tackett and his wife Roxann were new to the area as they moved from Arkansas, and had only been coming to the restaurant since the early spring. They befriended a waitress at Cracker Barrel, they had visited the restaurant a couple of times and were always happy with their service.
The waitress, Cindi Grady, lives with her disabled son and she had an old blue car which had a shattered front passenger side window and the open panel was covered in plastic wrap.
The couple noticed the condition of Cindi’s car and decided to gift her a new car, a 2008 Ford Fusion.
One day a manager at the restaurant asked Grady to come outside the Cracker Barrel in Branson, Missouri, where she worked.
After coming outside, she saw Tacketts were waiting for her. Gary then took Cindi into the parking lot and told her about the unexpected news.
The couple’s daughter filmed the video of the precious moment when her parents surprised Cindi with a new car.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she said when they told her that they have brought a new car for her. “Really? No way.”
“It’s not new, but it’s new to you,” he told her.
“It’s beautiful,” Grady said in the video.
“It’s running fantastic,” she said. “I love it.”
Tackett’s daughter Chelsea Todd wrote on Facebook: “My parents saw the car and wanted to either fix it or get her something better to last through the winter months,”
“My parents are the most generous, kind-hearted, loving people I know. I’m so proud to be their daughter! Merry Christmas!”
“One co-worker said that they were glad they worked that day, it had restored his faith in mankind,”
“These people are simply amazing and I thank God every day that he sent these people to me.”
The story touched many people’s heart and they praised the couple for their generous act of kindness.
“I don’t know how to answer that,” Cindi said when asked what this gift meant to her. “I still feel overwhelmed.”
