According to Guangdong TV station, the tiny home, which allegedly measures just over 400 square feet, belongs to Ms. Liang who claimed she refused to move because the government didn’t offer her a proper replacement.

As an insider allegedly claimed, however, the woman rejected compensation and demanded four apartments in return for the small plot. While the officials were willing to provide her with two apartments in order to resume their project, the woman refused to change her mind.

After the story of the so-called nail house went viral, Liang spoke out and insisted she likes the place and refuses to care about what other people think of her.

In another interview shared by Pear Video, Liang also insisted she refused the government’s offer because the apartments they had offered her were located next to a morgue.

The officials, however, claimed they had offered the homeowner various apartment options on top of monetary compensation but she refused them all.

According to the reports, the preparations for the construction of Haizhuyong Bridge began back in 2010 when the buildings on the earmarked plot were set for demolition.

Out of seven businesses and 47 households in the area, Liang is the only person who chose to turn down the government’s compensation.
