However, they soon realized that they won’t be seeing their fluffy yellow Pokemon.

Detective Pikachu is based on the Pokémon spin-off game that allows players to work with a talking Pikachu to solve cases. The new movie follows the cute, yellow Pikachu as he assists Tim in solving a mystery, with one of the villains believed to be a water/dark type frog-like Pokémon.

Yes, that is not what the children were expecting when they entered the cinema for the flully Pokémon.

One person commented: “Reminds me of that time the theater I was in played a trailer for Seed of Chucky before Spiderman 2. I was 11. It was traumatizing.”

Another tweeted: “I find this absolutely hilarious. I saw my first horror movie when I was 6. The original HALLOWEEN. I would let my kid stay and watch.”

A third said: “I saw a kids movie in theaters a few years ago and the theater accidentally played the redband trailer for the first Deadpool. That got some comments.”
