One person wrote: ‘No it’s not. Why isn’t she a Doctor as well? Or why is the boy not a nurse?’

Another social media user edited the image and covered the words ‘nurse’ and ‘doctor’ on both of the children’s backs to read ‘health professional in training’, which received 24,000 likes.

“The children are cute. The sexism on their backs is NOT.”

Another accused the account of tweeting “from the year 1950.”

Even the color of the scrub came into question.  Asking why the girl is wearing pink and the boy is wearing green.

But some defended the picture, with one woman tweeting: ‘I’m studying to be a nurse and I’m proud of it.

Don’t make such a big deal of this ugh’. Someone else posted: ‘I think it’s cute. And please ignore the social justice hate mobs.’
