A First Ever Cheese-Themed Hotel Suite Opened In The UK


All the cheese lovers have a chance to experience a cheese-themed hotel.

Yes! You heard it right. The Cheese Suite, in Camden, London, is a ‘homage to fromage’ with cheese-themed wallpaper, artwork, bedding, cushions and even some cheese-scented soap.

Guests can have cheesy cookbooks as well as some cheese-themed board games. Not only this but there will be a ‘cheese hotline delivery service’ which will give you with ‘melted cheesy goodness’ straight from Café Rouge.

Talking about the cheesy concept, Jacqueline Fletcher, head of marketing at Café Rouge, said: ‘We always want to cater to the appetite of our customers and we know that there’s a real hunger for cheese-based dishes after serving over 20,000 cheese afternoon teas since launching in 2018.

‘So, we wanted to give the nation somewhere new and exciting to be totally immersed in one of their favorite foods in none other than a cheese-themed hotel suite, while also trying some of our winter dishes from the comfort of the sofa.’

If you want to stay at a hotel, you will need to enter a ballot for a one-night stay. Winners will be selected at random and the deadline for entering is 11.59 pm on 6 February.

Guests can take selfies in front of the suite’s giant cheese installations. Stays are limited to one night and are free and guests are encouraged to donate to the restaurant chain’s charity, the Prince’s Trust.

According to a 2018 study from McMasters University in Canada, people who indulged in more than two portions of cheese a day saw reductions in the chance of stroke and the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Mahshid Dehghan, lead author of the study said: “Our findings support that consumption of dairy products might be beneficial for mortality and cardiovascular disease, especially in low-income and middle-income countries where dairy consumption is much lower than in North America or Europe.”
