60 Minutes Australia recently published an interview with the actress in which she gave a detailed account of how her family had helped her fight the deadly disease.

Olivia revealed in the interview that she has decided not to ask the doctors about how much more she’s got to live.

She just wants to live every day of her life to the fullest, before death knocks on her door. The actress wants to be in the moment rather than counting down the moments she’s left to live.

She wants to continue to support and motivate others like her, fighting terminal diseases, helping them manage their fights against whatever diseases they have.

“When you’re given a cancer diagnosis or a scary honest diagnosis, you’re suddenly given a possibility of a time limit,” remarked 70-year-old Olivia in the interview.

“If somebody tells you, you have six months to live, very possibly you will because you believe that,” she added.

“So for me, psychologically, it’s better not to have any idea of what they expect, or what the last person that has what you have lived, so I don’t tune in.”

Earlier this year, there were overwhelming rumors suggesting Olivia’s health was depreciating at a rapid pace. People expected the ‘Grease’ star had only a handful of days.

Olivia was first clinically diagnosed with cancer back in 1992 and the disease struck again in 2013. People assumed the worst was going to happen when she was diagnosed by a new cancer in her back in 2017.

The Australian star said the rumors regarding her imminent death were nothing but foolish exaggeration and that she is still alive, happy and doing great in life.

“To read that you’re dead or you’re dying is a really strange experience,” she said while talking of the rumors, before adding: “I thought that I would confront this. … It was upsetting.”

Speaking of the death of her brother Hugh Newton-John, who passed away in May, she said: “My dear, sweet, gentle, clever, brother Hugh passed away May 7, 2019, in Melbourne, Australia after many years of decline.”

“I love him so and will miss him terribly. Love & light, Olivia,” an emotional Olivia added.

Olivia is now focusing all her energies to make every single day of her life count by helping people in their fight against cancer.

She is going to auction off some of her memorabilia from ‘Grease’ in order to generate funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre located in Melbourne, according to a report from USA Today.

The items listed for auction include the leather costume she wore in the ending scenes of the hit movie while acting alongside John Travolta.

“I’ve worn them, they’ve given me an incredible career and now I kiss them goodbye,” Olivia said. “Hopefully their value can help a lot of people going through cancer.”

Olivia, who has quite high expectations for the auction, says the items will sell for a minimum of “a million apiece for the jacket and pants.”

The actress is thankful that despite all the health problems she’s been through she is still alive, and has got time, no matter how small, to make a difference.
