On 12th of July, Sheryl Powell along with her husband Joe Powell and her dog Miley went camping and that is when it all happened.
Sheryl Powell went missing after her husband had left her and her dog alone for just 5 minutes.
The sheriffs and the search teams were all working in finding her and bringing her home and after 4 days of search, she was found alive.
While the three were out for camping, Sheryl took Miley for a toilet break and in the time Joe had gone away to park the vehicle. He came back just in 5 minutes. But he came back to find his wife and the dog gone.
He kept searching for her and Miley for about an hour before he decided to call for help.
On July 12th, the sheriff department of the region started their search in the remote area along with some other search groups too.
Joe and his family were all worried about Sheryl and her whereabouts. Their son Greg had posted about her mother and the miss happenings in an online post and it soon gained enough attention.
Thankfully, Sheryl, as well as Miley, were both found alive yesterday after 4 long days of struggle. Miley was found first, 2.5 miles away from the spot they both went missing.
Sheryl told what happened saying “I was peeing in the woods when a weird man came and started making foul comments on me. He then pulled out a knife and tried to harass me.
He came close and grabbed me too. I then hit him and ran away to save myself. I could hear Joe call out my name but I was too scared to come out because of the attacker. I kept low and avoided the main pathways. I only traveled in the night.”
Sheryl was found very exhausted after 4 days of her struggle but she was found alive.
