One person commented: “The animals, the landscape, the homes and lives of loved ones – the loss of so many beautiful things is heartbreaking. Considering many of these fires were started by pyromaniacs, we need to look at changing what they are charged with. No longer give them community corrections orders or good behaviour bonds because it’s not enough. This goes well beyond manslaughter and destruction of property.”

“It is so unbelievably hard to see these photos everyday. Its gut wrenching and heartbreaking. Tears flow as I see these poor beautiful and remarkable animals die. So much loss. So much sorrow,” another said.

“Heartbreaking! seeing these Australian animals that share the same home I was born in. In a sense growing up with plenty of pictures with these wonderful wildlife as a kid. It’s painful to see not only people but animals and nature affected. I have hope that Australia will heal, restore and regenerate from these events. Nature is resilient and finds a way to beautifully rebuild. Lets treat it right,” a third wrote.
