How much tip do you usually leave at a restaurant?

Even though it varies, the general rule is to tip 15 to 20 percent of the entire bill.
However, when the service is bad, people usually tip less than the suggested amount.

Here’s a couple who received extremely bad service at a restaurant, and what they did afterwards will leave you stunned!

As mentioned above, their experience at the restaurant wasn’t great.

In fact, it was terrible.

The couple said that they waited 20 minutes for water, 40 minutes for an appetizer, and over an hour for their entrée.
And they weren’t the only ones who were receiving such bad service.
Makenzie and Steven could hear others dining at the restaurant complaining.

When they went back home, Makenzie posted on her Facebook about their dinner experience at Kazoku.
But, the post wasn’t an angry review about the restaurant. She didn’t even criticize the server.

Instead, Makenzie attached a photo of their receipt, which showed that Makenzie and Steven actually left $100 tip for a meal worth $66.65.

Makenzie went on to explain why they left such generous tip to the server.

She wrote that “it was very obvious that the issue was being short staffed. He was running around like crazy and never acted annoyed with any table.”

At one point, the couple noticed their server trying desperately to serve 12 tables at once.
Clearly, he was overwhelmed.

And they knew exactly how their server must’ve felt, because Steve and Makenzie actually met each other while working as servers at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant.

“As I sat there and watched him run back and forth and apologizing for the wait, I said to Steven…
Wow, this used to be us,‘” wrote Makenzie.

That’s when the couple decided to do something special – they decided to pay it forward to their hardworking server.
“We thought it could make his night a little bit easier,” said Makenzie.

On the receipt, Makenzie even wrote a heartwarming message for their server:
