According to Henry Avocado, consumers should check for a “Bravocado” sticker on their avocados. Organic avocados carry a sticker that contains the words “organic” and “California.”

‘Henry Avocado is issuing this voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution due to positive test results on environmental samples taken during a routine government inspection at its California packing facility,’ the company said in its written statement.

Listeria is a bacteria that can cause fever and diarrhea, and more dangerous complications in pregnant women.

Symptoms for listeria infection include nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, severe headache, and stiffness.

The Center For Disease Control says anyone suffering from these symptoms who believe they have eaten food contaminated with listeria should seek medical care and tell the doctor about what they ate.

‘This is especially important if you are pregnant, age 65 or older, or have a weakened immune system,’ the CDC notes on its website.
