Veteran Actor Anthony Hopkins Says He’s Already ‘At Peace’ With His Inevitable Death


Anthony Hopkins has revealed that he is already ‘at peace’ with his ‘inevitable death.

The 82-year-old veteran actor, who lives in Los Angeles, shared how he has accepted that his eventual passing is ‘inevitable’ as there’s nothing he can do to stop it.

The actor spoke about his eventual death as he prepares to star as a dementia sufferer in a drama film The Father, directed and co-written by Florian Zeller.

The movie is based on Zeller’s 2012 play Pere and stars Sir Anthony, Imogen Poots, Olivia Williams, Mark Gatiss, and Rufus Sewell.

In an interview with The Mirror, Sir Anthony said: “Your life is terminal. It’s a terminal condition, you’re not going to get off the planet alive.

“With that reality there’s a tremendous freedom, a wonderful peacefulness about it.”

Earlier this year, the Oscar-Winning actor thanked his fans for their positive messages as he shared an update after reaching the tenth day of his voluntary isolation.

He posted an Instagram video saying he had been painting to pass the time.

Wearing a light blue shirt and black trousers, Sir Anthony showcased his beautiful art pieces and said: “Hello everyone, well thank you for your generous compliments and well-wishes. As you see I’m in self-quarantine, I’m 82 years of age I’ve found lots of things to do.”

Sir Anthony also addressed his adorable cat, saying: “For example, I played the piano for Niblo, he’s busy at the moment, he’s writing his memoirs!”

The veteran actor also went one and shared one of the activities he has been doing while in voluntary isolation.

“I’ve also been painting, these are my latest paintings, just for the fun of it. I’m afraid Niblo does not really approve of my work, I think he’s probably a better painter than me.”
