Stand-up comedian Amy Schumer has shared a nude photo of herself on Instagram to inspire fellow moms who also have scars from c-section.
The 39-year-old gave birth to her son Gene David Fischer in May 2019 and revealed that she had to get a cesarean section.
In her Instagram photo, the actor covered her private parts but showed off her c-section scars.
“Feeling like my c section looks cute today!” Amy wrote, adding the hashtags #hotgirlwinter and #csection.
Her post has gained praises from her celebrity friends, fans, and fellow mothers who said she is amazing for sharing how her body looks like after giving birth.
Writer Lesley Arfin commented: “Uh yeah it does. Mine looks like the Pringles guy.”
Jessica Seinfeld, the wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld, wrote: “Whatever transported Genie on this planet is to be relished. P.S. body.”
Singer Vanessa Carlton also said: “Feel like mine lookin’ hot today too! What a coincidence!”
Amy previously explained that her pregnancy was a difficult experience as she had hyperemesis, a rare disorder that causes “extreme, persistent nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. It can lead to dehydration, weight loss, and electrolyte imbalances.”
“I’m a week into IVF and feeling really run down and emotional,” she wrote in another Instagram post. “If anyone went through it and if you have any advice or wouldn’t mind sharing your experience with me please do. My number two is in my bio. We are freezing my eggs and figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling.”
The condition affects around 3% of pregnancies but in severe cases, it can result in devastating outcomes.
Amy said that she and her husband Chris Fischer would probably have another child through surrogacy.
During an interview with Anna Faris, the stand-up comedian said: “I, for my safety, cannot be pregnant again,” she said. “One in three mothers with hyperemesis, what I had, one in three babies don’t make it.
“So I really don’t like those odds. Just because you’re vomiting so much you can’t nourish your baby or yourself, so my pregnancy was a huge bummer.”
