Police Arrested 99-Year-Old Woman But Instead Of Being Upset, She Was Happy


A 99-year-old woman was arrested recently in Nijmegen, Netherlands.

The Netherlands police force that performed the arrest posted pictures up on Facebook of her in handcuffs as well as in a jail cell. However, upon closer inspection of the picture, we can see that the woman isn’t upset about being arrested, but rather very happy. Certainly not the reaction you would expect of someone being arrested with their mugshot on Facebook!

Well, it turns out that she wasn’t actually a criminal, but instead, she was going through her bucket list and one of the items she had on her bucket list was that she wanted to be arrested and put into a jail before she died.point 188 | A bucket list is a list of items that people wish to do before they pass on.point 248 |

For Annie, the sweet 99-year-old grandmother, it seemed like she wasn’t going to be able to check this off her bucket list at first and she was down to just a few entries left on her bucket list.point 164 | 1

However her granddaughter decided to pull some strings and talked with the Dutch police about potentially helping her out with this dream.point 268 |

Thankfully, the Dutch police department were more than happy to oblige her.point 64 | They delicately handcuffed her and put her in the prison cell for a short period of time.point 137 | The entire time she was giggling and was as excited as a young child.point 193 | You couldn’t even tell that she was almost 100 years old!point 246 | 1

After they helped her out, they asked if she would also like to be featured on their Facebook page, which she gladly accepted. Not only was she going to be arrested, but now her memories will be forever immortalized on Facebook!

In the post the police officers explained the situations so that no one would be confused and they said that it was truly a day to remember, she had a strong impact on them from the short period of time they spent together. Of course for Annie, it will also be memorable as she finally lived out of one her dreams!
