Becki-Jo, a 23-year-old young mother of a beautiful girl named Indiana, started feeling sick and uncomfortable.
The young mother from England was learned that she was pregnant, she was on cloud nine and was very much excited for the second child. But the mother was stunned after learning the most surprising thing about her pregnancy.
Becki was expecting triplets, it was a surprise for her as no one in the family ever had triplets, and she was not prepared for the shocking news, so obviously, she was a little anxious.
After 31 weeks of pregnancy, Becki gave birth to three boys, Rocco, Roman, and Rohan. But the things got difficult for her as the boys were not healthy, Rocco was 3lbs 5, Roman was 3lbs 6 and Rohan was 3lbs 10. The triplets were not allowed to go back home. Instead, they were rushed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for three long weeks.
After getting back home, Becki noticed a very strange thing which was another surprise for her. Her triplets were identical; it was shocking as the chances of being identical are very rare: one in 200 million.
To confirm her suspicion, Becki took swaps of DNA and sent it off to a lab to confirm her suspicions. The results were Positive!
“I was always convinced they weren’t because that’s what I had been told during my pregnancy. I got in touch with a company who sent me some swabs, and within three days of me sending them back, they told me the boys were identical. We don’t get anywhere fast because people are always stopping us when we’re out and asking if they are identical.”, said Becki.
Becki doesn’t find it difficult to distinguish her sons even though they are identical. “It’s only when they’re asleep that they look the same to me. But they all have completely different personalities. And they’ve all got dark birthmarks between their eyebrows, but Roman’s is slightly darker than the others, and Rohan has got a birthmark on his leg as well,” Becki said.
The chances of being identical triplets are rare, so it was obvious for Becki to be surprised as her baby boys are incredibly rare. Share this story with your friends and family if you find it interesting!
