In spite of his poor health, the ‘national hero’ did not let his illness prevent him from doing his duty for his family. He showed the same determination at the ceremony like he did during his time serving the country.

The guests can be seen awestruck as Bronislaw escorted his granddaughter Joanna down the aisle. They were seen weeping and Joanna was trying to compose herself as she walked down the aisle.

The groom, on the other hand, wasn’t able to control his emotions as he bit his lips in order to stop himself from crying. He planted two warm kisses on the veteran’s cheeks and thanked the war hero for bringing his bride.

During WWII, Bronislaw was held as a prisoner of war by the Nazis but he managed to escape from the Gestapo’s prison containment facility in Lomza, in north-eastern Poland.

However, he was arrested again in 1948, during the communist period. He was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.

For his bravery and patriotism towards his homeland, he was given the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Rebirth of Poland along with several other honors.
