‘The world’s worst cat’ has gone viral after shelter put it up for adoption along with a hilarious description to attract potential owners.

While most owners prefer kittens who love to cuddle and give away soft purrs, dozens of cat lovers have filed adoption applications after North Carolina shelter presented them with 4-year-old Perdita whom they dubbed the world’s worst cat due to her grumpy attitude.

As the rescuers revealed, Perdita was brought in after her previous owner passed away. While she was fine medically speaking, she continued to act aggressively and kept on avoiding contact with people.

In hopes of attracting potential owners, the shelter decided to stop sugarcoating Perdita’s story and put all of the facts right out there.

“Meet Perdita, not for the faint of heart,” Mitchell County Animal Rescue wrote in their Facebook post that racked up thousands of shares and likes.

“LIKES: staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again; the song Cat Scratch Fever, the movie Pet Cemetery (Church is her hero), jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners, being queen of her domicile, fooling shelter staff into thinking she’s sick (vet agrees… she’s just a jerk).point 540 | 1

“DISLIKES: the color pink, kittens (yuk they are so chipper), dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas and last but NOT least… HUGS.

“She’s single and ready to be socially awkward with a socially awkward human who understands personal space. FREE ADOPTION”

While it may look like the honest description would put people off from adopting the animal, what happened was quite the opposite.

As the shelter added, over 50 people have filed adoption applications, meaning that Perdita will have no problems getting a new home!
