Meet the PodRide, “a fun and practicle bicycle-car,” that’s weather-protected.
Basically, it’s a bicycle with four-wheels covered by waterproof fabric. In addition, the PodRide is equipped with heated windshield, so that you won’t be freezing when you’re driving it.

If you only look at the picture without reading the descriptions, you might not even realize that it’s not a real car. Even though it only weighs about 150 pounds, the height is the same as any normal car. Plus, with studded tires, the PodRide navigates with ease even on ice or snow – which is perfect for Mikael’s purpose.

And that’s not the end! Mikael says that the PodRide can go up to 15 miles per hour, because it is equipped with an electric bike motor. It even has a small trunk, so that you can store some of your things in it.

When Mikael received an overwhelmingly positive response after posting his prototype on YouTube, he launched an Indiegogo campaign. With the money raised, Mikael plans to build a DIY-kit so that people could build their own PodRides.

As Mikael says, “Bicycle-Cars are practical, good for your health, cheap to run, good for the environment, and fun to drive. They require no new and advanced technology to work and they would not cost much if they were mass-produced.” So, you can actually help the environment by riding vehicles like the PodRide!
