27-Year-Old Clerk Who Kept Working At The Store To Help The Elderly Passed Due To Coronavirus

The woman died of coronavirus and her mother revealed she had only received $20.64 on her last paycheck.

Leilani Jordan was a 27 years old girl who worked at the Giant Food store in Largo, Maryland.  


The young woman passed away on April 1 after she caught the virus working in the store. She had gone for her last shift to work about two weeks before her death.

Jordan’s parents are left with a broken heart. They said that even after the major outbreak of the disease in America, she chose to keep working because she wanted to help the elderly people.

While talking about her daughter, Jordon’s mother broke down in tears. She said that as her daughter continued working because the Giant Food store was facing shortness of staff, they did not even provide basic protection measures like sanitizers and gloves.

Zenobia Shepherd, Jordan’s mother said that her daughter was suffering from cerebral palsy and ‘cognitive delays’.

This means that there was a fair chance that she was not able to understand the potential dangers of this deadly disease.

The retailer company sent her mother a certificate marking Jordan’s 6 years of incredible service. She also received her last paycheck of $20.64.

Her mother who could not stop sobbing said she lost her baby just for twenty dollars and sixty-four cents. She said that she could have done without it.

Her mother said that if the retailers had provided the staff with PPE her daughter would have been alive and with them right now.

She said that she never wanted this to happen, especially not because she wanted to work to make money.
