The so-called Januhairy campaign, which came to light in 2019, aims not only to raise funds to tackle issues revolving around climate change but also to “encourage the acceptance of body hair on women.”

According to Laura Jackson, the founder of the revolutionary movement, she came upon the idea of total acceptance of body hair when she was growing her underarm locks for a theater play back in college.

After sharing her aims and goals with the world, Jackson received a positive response from other women that helped her campaign grow into an international movement.

“Our charity focus this year is to support TreeSisters in protecting, restoring and funding reforestation… We envision a world in which it is normal for everyone to protect and restore themselves and their world, a plight we resonate with as women, to protect and restore our personal natural habitats!
