Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire and now it has more than 787,000 cases in the world.
Because the symptoms may not show for several days after a person has contracted the disease, they may not realize the presence of the virus in their bodies and transfer it to other people around them.
The only option left with affected nations was to impose lockdown and prevent people from meeting. As a result, people have been stocking up supplies because of the fear that groceries may run out soon.
However, authorities have announced that there is not going to be any food shortage. But the panic buyers cannot keep themselves from emptying shelves of grocery stores.
They are hoarding huge amounts of food, packaged food, and toilet paper rolls in their houses.
Due to panic buying, many people are unable to buy their essential goods, especially the disabled, elderly, and healthcare workers.
As a result, people who are buying loads of groceries have already started receiving judgemental looks from other shoppers who have realized that there are people who need the supplies more than them.
A similar incident happened to a woman, Stephanie Rhymer Whitaker, who was called hoarding a*s b**ch. However, her post went viral for showing the other side of the story.
She explained in a post that she did spend $1100 worth of groceries that day. But it was not for her entirely and she had shopped for six families.
Stephanie explained that her shopping list was comprised of six lists from families with small children, her parents, her grandparents, single mother, and families with special needs.
She also wrote that after going home sorted the groceries and then packed them in separate boxes so that she could deliver them to those in need while maintaining social distancing.
