A 44-year-old woman has been arrested after she kidnapped Noah Gabriel Trout from a church nursery in Virginia.
Nancy Fridley reportedly plotted to snatch another child days after she kidnapped the two-year-old boy from the Riverview Baptist Church.
According to reports, little Noah was found safe with a newly shaved head at the woman’s mobile home about 75 miles away from the church.
Fridley appeared in Montgomery County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court where prosecutors revealed she was suspected of attempting to snatch other children after kidnapping Noah.
“She intended to take not just one, but multiple children,” Giles County Commonwealth Attorney Bobby Lilly said.
Police reportedly found a onesie that was too small for a two-year-old inside Fridley’s trailer. They also found small beds meant for children and a stash of sippy cups, Lilly said.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office previously said the kidnapper had allegedly been seen outside two other churches weeks before Noah went missing.
Prosecutors said that Fridley stopped by one of the churches and told staff she just came to pick up her son ‘Larry’ because he was sick.
But she was turned away as there was no kid there by that name.
She then tried to pull the same stunt at another church but was turned away again.
On May 4, Fridley went to the Riverview Baptist Church and pointed out Noah while talking to nursery workers.
Surveillance footage shows Noah being led out of the building by Fridley, who was driving a charcoal 2007 Chevy Trailblazer with a ‘BOOBER’ sticker on the windshield.
During Noah’s stay with Fridley, the woman introduced him to her neighbors as Bobby Jr, claiming he was the son of her boyfriend.
She also claimed that she was preparing to gain custody of her two children, possibly by kidnapping more kids, prosecutors said.
The 42-year-old has been arrested and charged with one count of abduction.
