A woman has gone viral after she went shopping armed with a zorb ball in what appears to be a bizarre coronavirus-inspired prank.
The incident occurred in Kent, the UK, where the anonymous shopper rolled into a Morrisons supermarket using a zorb ball.
Since the woman was unable to pick groceries herself, the man accompanying her did it for her whereas she pointed fingers at whatever she wanted to have.
Soon enough, another shopper confronted the woman and asked her why she’d gone to such measures to protect herself to which her ‘assistant’ responded by explaining she’s germophobic.
After rolling through the aisles for some time, the woman was approached by one of the workers who told her they couldn’t allow her to remain in the store.
After the incident went viral, some people applauded the woman’s attempts to self-isolate while others slammed her and accused her of spreading the germs all over the floor.
In another unrelated shopping incident that occurred across the ocean in Australia, a Woolworths employee was caught on camera crying after allegedly getting abused by shoppers.
“These poor workers are being brought to tears because of the way people are treating them, blaming them and abusing them for something they have no control of,” wrote the woman who shared the saddening photo of the employee crying on social media.
“They’re humans just like the rest of us, trying to make a living, trying to do the best job they possibly can for everyone at the moment.
“Before you look for someone to blame for all of this mayhem, maybe try and think about the fact that these people are just trying to do their jobs and don’t need to be abused every 10 minutes just because Woolworths and Coles is out of stock.
“Be a decent human in these time you never know what someone is struggling with in their lives and you’re abusing someone over not being able to buy three packets of pasta or some toilet paper.”
Responding to the distressing photo were other workers who shared their own stories of verbal abuse they encountered amid the crisis.
“Walked into Woolworths wearing my Kmart uniform and got yelled at because they didn’t have toilet paper. Even though I didn’t work at Woolworths,” someone claimed.
“Half an hour into the day and we already had to call security and the police. Enough is enough guys. Treat each other with respect. We are just doing our job,” another one said.
