A woman has been left outraged after she was told she could be jailed for two years and ordered to pay a hefty fine of over $50,000 after she shared the video of a pervert masturbating next to her on a train without his permission.
37-year-old Natacha Bras from France was on a train from Paris to Poitiers when she noticed a pervert masturbating on the seat next to her while allegedly making eye contact with her.
She then decided to catch the depraved man on camera and share a video of his indecent act on social media without blurring his face.
“Paris > Poitiers by TGV (about 1h15) with a guy who changes places and sits in front of me, looks at me and masturbates … there’s still work! No reason not to display it so I put the video here!” the 37-year-old captioned her video.
Following the video going viral, the rail operators apologized for the inconvenience and wrote:
“Hello @Onlygold20, I understand your concern and regret these difficult travel conditions. Also, if this happens again, do not hesitate to report it to the Chief of Flight or to contact the SNCF emergency service.”
While the social media users applauded Bras for her bravery to expose the pervert’s face to the public, the law doesn’t appear to be on her side.
As Bras admitted, she is concerned over the fact that she could be jailed for two years and face a $50,000 fine for posting the video of the man without his permission.
The pervert, on the other hand, is only facing a maximum of one year jail time and a $17,000 fine.
“I can be sentenced to a heavier penalty. Do you think it is acceptable?” Bras questioned on Twitter after the incident.
