The woman who broke the world record for the longest nails by a female has decided to sell her massive talons “for the right price” – Read $47,000.
While 54-year-old Ayanna Williams’ offer may sound like a rip-off, keep in mind that she is the current Guinness World Record holder for the longest nails on a female. She also dedicated 28 years of her life to growing and nourishing her nails until they reached the length of 38 inches.
As the grandmother revealed, she is only willing to get rid of her nails for the right price which she believes to be around $47,000 for the complete set.
“I’ve decided to sell them as I split from my husband six years ago and it’s hard with no one around me to help me anymore,” Williams said.
“I have diabetes now and it’s hard to give myself injections. I made the decision about a year ago but I’ll only sell them for the right price.”
As the 54-year-old from Houston, Texas, insisted, she’s not giving up on her nails unless someone steps forward with a serious offer.
“I won’t be cutting them until I get a seller. They’ll continue to grow until then. The buyer can put them on as fake nails if they want to,” she added.
According to the reports, Williams started growing her nails back in 1992. While her ex-husband initially “wasn’t supportive” of them, he allegedly grew fond of the long nails in time.
“The first thing I noticed as they started to get longer was that I couldn’t do the dishes anymore and I needed my husband to help me around the house but it seemed like a small price to pay,” the grandma admitted.
“I use a pencil or my knuckle to type on my phone and, putting on jeans, I use pliers to pull them up and zip them. I get a lot of help from my kids and grandchildren.
“My younger grandkids are obsessed with my nails, I click them together and it almost hypnotizes them. The fun stops when they pull on them though as it hurts.
“It’s a misconception that I can’t do anything with my nails, there’s plenty that I can do easily, I just have to be careful not to damage my nails as I do it.”
