Woman Is Duct-Taped To Her Seat On American Airlines Flight After She Attempted To Open The Plane Door And Bit A Flight Attendant


An American Airlines passenger was duct-taped to her seat after she allegedly bit a flight attendant and tried to open the plane door.

The July 6 incident was filmed by another passenger on the flight from Dallas to Charlotte.

According to reports, the female passenger suffered a ‘mental health episode’ for two hours into the trip.

TikTok user Ariena Mathena said something was happening toward the front of the aircraft. She described the moment the crew started running up and down the aisle to keep the plane secured.

The captain eventually told passengers to stay in their seats, saying there was an issue towards the front of the plane.

Even after the plane landed, the passenger could be seen still restrained with tape over her mouth and upper body.

Paramedics were seen waiting with a stretcher at the age.

The airlines later confirmed in a statement that the unnamed passenger was ‘restrained’ after she caused crew members concern.

The statement reads: “While in flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Charlotte on July 6, the crew on board American Airlines flight 1774 reported a potential security concern after a customer attempted to open the forward boarding door and physically assaulted, bit and caused injury to a flight attendant.

“For the safety and security of other customers and our crew, the individual was restrained until the flight landed at CLT and could be met by law enforcement and emergency personnel.”

The woman was placed on American Airlines’ no-fly list.

One person commented: “Do not fly lists should be across the board… every airline.”

Another said: “Aircraft should be equipped with accessible air locks for nuts like this can safely exit the aircraft whenever they choose and no one else would be affected. You can add a GPS safety system so it only unlocks when the plane is over an unpopulated area or water. I wouldn’t want someone on the ground to get hurt or property to get damaged.”
