“I can’t save them all, but I thought I would save one. Anything for my baby,” the vegan said after buying the pig from the farmer.

Following her rescue, Alicia brought the animal in her home and started walking him around on a leash.

“He is even easier to walk than a dog. We would be at the shopping center in the open air and I would sit there, relax and have a cup of tea. It was pretty crazy because there was constantly a crowd around the pig and kids loved it,” she added.

As the news of the fact that she was living with a pig spread, however, Alicia was told to leave the apartment due to a breach of rules.

She was also approached by RSCPA who told her she wouldn’t be allowed to keep Pixy and instructed her to hand the animal over to them.

“We walked to the back of the van and he just started screaming and trying to run away – he didn’t want to go,” she added, speaking of the moment she was separated with her pig.

“The sadness I am going through or the sadness the pig is going through at losing me is better than him being slaughtered. I am not going to buy more pigs because it will cause more problems with the RSPCA, which was not my intention.”

While she may not have been able to keep Jixy all to herself, Alicia is happy to know that the pig was moved to an animal sanctuary where he is going to spend the rest of his days.
