A woman from Virginia has received an alarming note from a total stranger telling her to ‘run’ from the man she was with.
Hadia took to Twitter and shared a photo of the note, which was written on the back of a CVS receipt.
She said that the paper was passed to her by a “gay guy sitting behind her” when the man went to the bathroom.
“I had coffee with a guy yesterday,” Hadia wrote. “When he went to the bathroom, the gay guy sitting behind me passed me this note.”
The message contained only eight words but the warning was clear.
“Too many red flags. Run. Be safe girl.”
Hadia’s post quickly went viral and gained more than 30,000 shares and thousands of comments from Twitter users who asked her for more details.
In several follow-up tweets, Hadia said she never felt like she was in danger even though she noticed some ‘red flags’ early on in their date. She said she kept talking to the man to ‘debate him’ on certain topics they did not agree on.
Hadia said that the man ‘is a fan’ of controversial dating guru Kevin Samuels, who was accused of encouraging men to make violent and disparaging remarks about women.
“I recognized the red flags, but I wasn’t in danger, so I stayed, because of course I had to debate him,” she explained. “I’m sure my guardian angel was exhausted and was like ‘B***H, LEAVE!’” she added.
Hadia also expressed her gratitude to the person who warned her about the man’s behavior.
“There were a few other GLARING red flags that I won’t mention, but don’t worry, I would have recognized them with or without the note.
“But the note was greatly appreciated and added some laughs to my night. There won’t be a second date.”
