A woman has been dubbed the ‘San Francisco Karen’ after her video in which she confronted a man for writing Black Lives Matter on his property went viral.
Lisa Alexander, a makeup artist, has come under fire after challenging Jaime Toons from San Francisco after the man used chalk to write ‘Black Lives Matter’ on the fence surrounding his home.
A white couple call the police on me, a person of color, for stencilling a #BLM chalk message on my own front retaining wall. “Karen” lies and says she knows that I don’t live in my own house, because she knows the person who lives here. #blacklivesmatter pic.twitter.com/rOpHvKVwgP

As seen in the video taken by Toons, Lisa is seen approaching the man before asking him if that was his property he was drawing on.
After Toons responded by asking her why she was asking him that question, Lisa and the man who was with her accused him of “defacing private property.”
“It’s just respect. Your sign is good. This is just not the way to do it,” Lisa said.
Responding to the allegations was Toons who said: “If I did live here and this was my property this would be absolutely fine? And you don’t know if I do live here…”
Interrupting the homeowner, Lisa insisted that they “actually do” know the owners of the home in person despite the fact that Toons is the real owner.
“That’s why we’re asking. We know the person who does live here. I’m not disagreeing,” she added.
Following the exchange, Toons urged the pair to call the police if they believe he was committing a crime because he wasn’t willing to explain himself to the woman.
As the homeowner later explained on Twitter, the police didn’t even bother getting out of the car when they did show up to check on the house.
Taking to Twitter, where he also shared the video of the confrontation, Toons wrote:

After the incident went viral and Lisa began facing a backlash, she released a statement in which she apologized to the man and admitted she should have minded her own business.
“I want to apologize directly to Mr. Juanillo,” the La Face Skincare owner wrote.
“There are not enough words to describe how truly sorry I am for being disrespectful to him last Tuesday when I made the decision to question him about what he was doing in front of his home. I should have minded my own business.”
