A woman has passed away after falling to her death while posing for photos on top of a cliff in UAE.
34-year-old Julia Khabibulina from Russia moved to Dubai last year to develop her photography career. But on May 15, Friday, she fell 32ft to her death after posing for holiday photos on a clifftop and lost her balance.
The photographer, who had a portfolio with tens of thousands of beautiful shots, hit the water and sustained severe injuries.
Julia’s friends said that she left Russia and moved to the UAE before the coronavirus lockdown started and had not planned on staying for a long time. However, she got trapped when borders were closed due to the crisis.
Because of rising ticket prices, her plan to go back home to Ufa was delayed.
Before she passed away, the 34-year-old wrote about coronavirus lockdown in a series of posts.
“It seems that the virus has already infected my brain and is deeply embedded in my subconscious… Today I dreamt that I was suffocating. I tried to call for a doctor but I couldn’t say anything because there was not enough air,” she wrote.
“It became very scary, I woke up and felt my heart beating wildly.”
Julia continued: “Thanks to Ramadan for quitting total quarantine! On the first day of the Holy month, we were allowed to go out without a pass and opened cafes.”
In another post, she wrote: “It seems that quarantine is the best thing to happen to me for a long time. Maybe we have all gone astray and forgotten what gratitude is, forgotten about God?”
She added: “People have been partying in hotels during the whole quarantine period. This is Dubai. Music has to be playing, even if you die.”
Julia specialized in extreme sports photography, namely windsurfing and kite.
One internet user said: “Extremely saddened to read this… RIP beautiful lady.”
