A teenager, who decided to eat 200 calories a day to look like Victoria’s Secret models, had near-death experience after her heart rate dropped to a dangerously low level.

Pretty Christie Swadling, from New South Wales, Australia, wanted to look like Victoria’s Secret models so she started eating as little as 200 calories a day.

The 18-year-old, who was once a long-distance runner, became too weak to walk after suffering an eating disorder and even collapsed one day after a slow jog.

Christie told Barcroft: “I was a big fan of Miranda Kerr and I liked the fact that she was very tall and very slim.point 204 |

She started exercising for fours a day to look like Miranda Kerr when she was just 12 years old. She had dropped to five stone when she was just 16.

She said: “The models were the trigger but eventually I got so ill that I stopped caring about them altogether. All that mattered was losing weight. I was admitted to hospital but as soon as my weight was up they discharged me while I was still struggling to cope.”

Christie was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in 2013 and was admitted to a hospital. She spent her 17th birthday in the hospital as she was so dangerously underweight.

Christie then decided to gain weight and now, she is seven stone. She is recovering but she still has a long way to go.
