Nebraska Woman Spared Jail Time After Marrying Her Biological Dad


A Nebraska woman who was charged with incest after marrying her own father has avoided jail time.

Samantha Kershner was arrested with her biological dad Travis Fieldgrove on incest charges in Hastings after cops received a tip about their gross sexual relationship from Samantha’s mother.

Although Samantha was originally charged with incest, the 21-year-old was sentenced to nine months of probation after pleading no contest to misdemeanor false reporting.

The 40-year-old dad was awarded a jail time of two years in after he pleaded no contest to charges of attempted incest in Hall County.

Cops said the father-daughter duo admitted that they had a sexual relationship and that they were both aware of their biological relation.

Samantha also revealed how she underwent a sick competition with her half-sister over who could develop a sexual relationship with their father first.

They even get married to each other in October last year after falsifying identity documents, despite knowing that they were being investigated by the police.

Samantha, from Grand Island, met dad Travis after she asked her mother who her father was. She was 17 years of age at the time.

The pair had a father-daughter relationship for the first three years.

Cops were alerted of their sexual relationship by Samantha’s mother.

While under investigation, a paternity test confirmed that Travis was Samantha’s biological father. The pair is still facing charges of incest after they married in Adams County.

The 21-year-old allegedly did not name Fieldgrove on her birth certificate at the time of the wedding, so she is also facing a charge of making false statements under oath, according to NTV.

Travis’ defense attorney told the court at his sentence hearing that he is not a ‘high-functioning guy’ because he suffers from a brain injury. The attorney also said the father is ‘very embarrassed’ by what happened and wishes it had never happened.

Judge Mark Young awarded prison time to Travis, and called him ‘a person who has never contributed to society.’
