A 33-year-old woman who made headlines after she married herself is now heading for divorce because she has met someone else.
Model Cris Galera from Sao Paulo, Brazil, previously said that she grew tired of depending on men so she decided to the knot with herself in a formal ceremony.
She said that she was not ‘disappointment’ not to have a partner, but only less than 90 days later, she has decided to divorce herself.
Even though she already vowed to go solo, Cris said she has met ‘someone special’ and has fallen in love.
“I was happy while it lasted,” she expressed. “I started to believe in love the moment I met someone else special.”
Back in September when she married herself, the 33-year-old said: “I reached a point where I matured, I realized that I am a strong and determined woman.
“I was always afraid of being alone, but I realized that I needed to learn to feel good about myself. When that happened, I decided to celebrate it.”
Her wedding photos show her wearing a white dress as she poses outside a church in Sao Paulo.
“I wanted to highlight my best features,” she said at that time.
But even though she felt very happy on her wedding day, she was upset to receive hurtful remarks from many people online.
“I decided that I would no longer read the hate comments,” she said. “People’s opinion will not change what I think or add anything to it.”
One person commented: “Therapy! It’s the way forward for her.”
Another wrote: “She hasn’t given it long enough. I’m sure if she waited she’d start to love herself more lol.”
A third said: “She’s silly if she gets a divorce, she’ll be running back to herself really soon!”
