48-year-old Sally, from Linton, Derbys, is also known as “Pinky”. Her village home has now become a tourist hotspot since she has painted all her belongings pink.
Sally, who runs a pet auction, told SWNS: “You’ve got to put a bit of colour in your life and mine is just pink. I always wear pink. Everything’s pink.”
“It’s just my favourite colour. I’ve got a vintage caravan that’s pink, it’s all pink inside. There’s nothing wrong with it.”
From her house to her car, to her caravan, to her hair, everything is pink in her house.
She even washes her favourite food, prawn cocktail with rose wine. Her partner, Jason Dodds gifted her a bright pink Mazda MX5 at Christmas.
She says her partner knows she obsessed with the colour pink and he doesn’t mind at all.
Jason said: “I think it’s great. I don’t mind living in a pink Barbie universe. If it makes Sally happy then I’m happy. I sometimes get odd looks when I drive her car into town but I think it’s funny.”
Sally said that they had been living in their house for five years when she decided to brighten it up. She wanted her house to stand out.
She said: “I bought a dark shade of pink masonry paint from B&Q and slapped it on the walls. It came out much brighter and colourful than I’d even hoped for.
It’s a good job the neighbours are good friends.”
She says people often park across the road to take a picture in front of her house. She said she never expected that her house would turn into a tourist spot.
