A 31-year-old woman has revealed that she’s in love with her stepfather-in-law and says that she doesn’t care about their 29-year age gap.
Erica Quiggle found a deep connection with her stepfather when her relationship with her first husband when through difficult times in 2011.
She and her stepfather-in-law started spending a lot of time together – and despite their huge age gap, they had begun to develop feelings for each other.
Erica said that she tried to fight her feelings but when Jeff confessed that he also felt the same way, they made their relationship public.
They eventually tied the knot and they now have a daughter of their own. Both her ex-husband and Jeff’s ex-wife have given them their blessings.
“It sounds scandalous, but we had this love we could not deny,” Erica said.
“Despite everything, our relationship now is perfect. Jeff is the young soul and I’m the old soul. He laughs when I say that, but it all worked out – and Justin was the most understanding person,” she continued.
Her ex-husband, Justin, said: “Everything’s all good now between us. There’s no hatred there anymore. We talk about our son and we’re both moving on with our lives.”
Jeff also said that he has found his soul mate in Erica.
“We really enjoy each other the way we are and we’re going to enjoy the time we have. We’ve never looked at the age difference – we just fell in love the way we are.”
It was in 2010 when Erica met Justin – her school friend’s brother.
“I met up with him and we went on a date and for some reason getting married seemed like the right thing to do,” Erica shared.
“His family and my family said we needed to do it and that we were perfect for each other.”
But their relationship lacked sparkle and even when they had a son in 2012, their child wasn’t enough to keep them together.
Erica started attending car shows and took part in vintage fashion competitions and modelings at local events.
Her stepfather-in-law Jeff was one of the organizers and they became closer than ever.
“I had actually known him since I was 16 but, of course, we had no connection at that age,” Erica said.
She then told him that she had mental problems and Jeff became her shoulder to cry on until her marriage with Justin was finally over.
Jeff’s marriage to Justin’s mother also came to an end.
Both newly single, Jeff also confessed that he had deep feelings for Erica.
“The age difference between me and Erica doesn’t bother us. People mostly think I’m in my forties anyway!” Jeff said.
Justin and her mother gave the couple their blessing.
“It’s been a few years now since all of this happened, and I’ve left it behind me and moved on.”
