A woman was left looking like something or someone right out of a horror movie and was struggling to eat and speak when her lip fillers went wrong.
31-year-old, Michaela Hide paid around £220 on her lip fillers treatment, after her beautician injected her lips with the wrong chemical.
Michaela, who is a customer service manager, immediately knew something was not right when her lips started to swell.
Later on, it was discovered that the beautician who was responsible for the treatment, what not qualified for the job. Instead of using the hyaluronic acid-based fillers, the beautician used calcium-based fillers that completely crystallized her lips.
Michaela told when interviewed with SUN, that she looked like something out of a horror show. When her boyfriend returned home, he went completely berserk asking her what had she done.
On the other hand, the beautician assured Michaela that everything was fine and told her simply put ice on her lips, once she returns home.
However, this didn’t work at all and the 31-year-old was panicking. She also stocked up on antihistamine, as she was hoping things will be okay and might reduce some swelling but there was no change at all.
After Michaela did some research by herself, she discovered that the beautician used a filler called Radiesse. It is a type of filler that is used in nose sculpting, jaw, cheek, and chin, but not in plumping the lips.
Giant lumps started to form everywhere, which made it difficult for her to open her mouth. Michaela returned to the beautician and paid another £120, to try and even them out, but she was left looking much worse than expected.
She said that the beautician had blocked her and made her move home after she kept asking her for help so that the pain goes away.
Michaela claimed that she was horrified to learn she might be stuck like this forever, for which she took the help of Dr. Mark Gorman, who is a reconstructive surgeon.
